The Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Juvenile Justice was established
in February 2000, in accordance with the
Code of Virginia §66-3.1. The mission is to protect
and preserve the integrity of the Department of Juvenile Justice by preventing or
detecting and exposing criminal activity, waste, abuse, corruption, serious misconduct
or mismanagement that relates in any way to DJJ operations or personnel. This Office
acts as the middle person and a fact-finding agent.
